Two weeks old!
It’s hard to believe she’s 11 days old already. It’s even harder to believe that I was pregnant just two weeks ago. She’s such a quiet baby. The past two days she’s started “saying” a bit more, but she’s a sweet girl. So alert and observant!
She is so peaceful!
How we do most of our sleeping at night.
And how we do the second leg of sleeping at night. So thankful for a Daddy who helps out in so many ways!
We finally made it over to Nannie and Pop’s for a visit.
They were so happy to finally meet her!
We had plans of all three “boys” wearing their Super Man shirts for a photo shirt, but umm… well, the new Super MAN never arrived.
So, Grammy fixed her shirt and we had a fun little photo shoot to document it.
The best moments in the world!
One of the greatest comforts for all of us during this transition was books. Lots of books! We did a lot of reading together and this was our favorite in those first few weeks.
Sweet Miss at the end of two weeks!
I started putting this candy cane sensory activity together for Sam when he was two years old. Sam loves sensory bins and had been begging me for a “smell good sensory bin” all week. I’ve finally been feeling well enough to comply, and set this up for them to find.
It’s just baking soda, vinegar, food coloring and peppermint essential oil. I added a couple of plastic candy canes to help them make the association with the peppermint smell.
I gave Timmy a dropper and two small measuring spoons to use. Sam got a dropper and medicine syringe thing-a-ma-jig.
This was Timmy’s first time taking part in this little activity and with the peppermint essential oil smell added to the vinegar it made it a very aromatic experience for all of us. I just sat and watched and enjoyed the aromatherapy. 🙂 The syringe was a huge hit with Sam. It allowed him to really squirt the liquid a little more forcefully giving the explosive effects more pizzazz.
I loved watching them process and experiment. And of course it always ends with getting a little messy! Who doesn’t love a little gooey texture between the fingers every now and then.
They loved it and spent nearly half an hour exploring. I love creating memories with these two boys!
I continue to feel better with each passing day. Thank you second trimester! I’ve missed our intentional learning times together these last several weeks. Samuel continues to be a self-starter and teaches himself when I’m not able, and Timmy is getting to the point when focused learning time is just FUN!
We spent one morning doing some fun coloring worksheets I found online for free. I remember Sam doing the color by shape ones. Now, it’s Timmy in my lap growing leaps and bounds while Sam sits across from me coloring all by himself. I’m always so impressed with how much they know that I don’t even realize!
We are so tired of having a bed bug. We’ve enjoyed uninterrupted sleep for too long with our perfect textbook baby. It’s been hard to experience such a drastic change. So, we’ve started bribing him with donuts when he sleeps through the night in his own bed!
Let’s be honest. This is a reward for Mommy and Daddy too!
I don’t know what it is about pancakes, but this kid loves them. To be honest, we don’t make them often enough.
This morning Sam helped me grind the flour in our new flour grinder. Mix the batter and flip the pancakes. He could barely contain himself when it was time to finally eat!
Sam is a natural on skiis and he absolutely loves it. Plus we had to bring Flat Stanley along on this trip because our niece Addison sent him over to us in Steamboat for a visit. We showed Flat Stanley around the best parts of our mountain. We hope he enjoyed his stay!
